Adam is the most recent CETC gymnast to be featured on Scottish Gymnastics website, having completed the Scottish Gymnastics Leadership course.
Adam decided to take part in the course as he would like to become a coach in the future.
He enjoyed learning about how to set achievable goals, and give better, more constructive feedback.
By applying this to his own performance as an NDP level trampoline and DMT gymnast – Adam said that he will be able to understand where he can improve, and take time to learn about how other people in his club work and develop too.
Skills learnt on the course helped with Adam’s confidence, and he started to put himself forward for other Club activities, that he perhaps wouldn’t have taken part in before.
Adam would highly recommend the SG Leadership Award to other members of his Club, and any other gymnasts who might be interested in taking their sporting career forward with coaching.

Another CETC gymnast, who has completed the Young Leadership Course has been highlighted by Scottish Gymnastics.
Emma Forrest completed the course, & had these positive comments about her experience:
"As a performance pathway gymnast for DMT, I have learnt a lot about how to think about my strengths and weaknesses, and the course helped me to identify other areas for improvement and I’m already noticing improvements.
In the gym, these skills will be useful when leading a group of gymnasts or helping out with the younger gymnasts too. I’m looking forward to putting the skills I’ve learned into practice.
What I learnt on the course will be helpful for my future career, as most jobs require good communication skills, and the ability to work well with others."
